जीरो पॉवर कट वाले छत्तीसगढ़ राज्य ने विगत दस वर्षो में प्रति व्यक्ति बिजली की खपत में 500 प्रतिशत वृध्दि दर्ज की है। वर्ष 2009-10 में राज्य में प्रति व्यक्ति विद्युत खपत 1547 यूनिट दर्ज की गयी। लोकसभा में केन्द्रीय ऊर्जा राज्य मंत्री श्री के. वेणुगोपाल द्वारा जारी किए गए आंकड़ों से विभिन्न राज्यों में बिजली की खपत की ताजा तस्वीर स्पष्ट हुई है। मुख्यमंत्री डॉ. रमन सिंह ने इस महत्वपूर्ण उपलब्धि पर प्रसन्नता व्यक्त की है।

Korba city, located at 22*20' North latitude and 82*42' East longitude, with a height of 304.8 meter, above sea level, is the administrative headquarters of Korba District. Korba primarily is an industrial town, situated at the confluence of the rivers Hasdeo and Ahiran in Chhattisgarh . The original inhabitants of this place are the Korwa scheduled tribe , though with time, people from across the globe have migrated to Korba, for food and shelter.
